CRISIS MANAGEMENT TRAINING (PCMA)
PCM is a crisis management program that has several unique features.
It was designed by behavior analysts, and uses behavioral technology to manage behavioral crises safely and effectively
PCM does not rely on coercive procedures, or painful or awkward holds to manage problem behavior
It focuses on using preventive and de-escalation procedures. It specifically reinforces calm behavior and de-escalation, and having a seamless integration between ongoing programming and crisis management
Experienced certified PCMA trainers on staff
Our trainers are also clinicians working in the field successfully treating severe behavior disorders such as aggression and self-injurious behavior
All our programs are competency-based, with instruction, rehearsal, and feedback until the student has demonstrated competence in the procedures
14 hours of training that focuses on preventing and de-escalating problem behaviors, transport and personal safety procedures
18 hours of training that includes everything in Basic plus vertical immobilization procedures
22 hours of training that includes everything in Practitioner 1 plus horizontal immobilization
We offer competitive prices. The price depends upon the level of certification required plus materials.
We are able to train groups with as few as 3 people or as many as 10; the price is the same regardless of whether there are 3, 5, or 10 people being trained.
If the agency trains their staff up to Practitioner 2, they will also need to purchase a mat. We can provide one at cost or can recommend suitable mats that the agency can purchase on its own.
What makes PCM better than other approaches?
PCM uses sound behavior analytic principles, and was developed specifically for clinical populations, unlike most competing programs. In addition, it strategically integrates prevention, de-escalation, crisis management, with the client's behavior plan and activities to produce a program that ensures the safety of all involved with the fewest restrictions possible.
Do you provide other behavioral consultation services?
Yes, we do. We have a number of Board Certified Behavior Analysts with extensive experience treating serious behavior problems. We have served as expert consultants as well as witnesses on court cases and high profile cases.
Why do you charge the same price regardless of the number of people being trained?
Because we pay our trainers by the hour, so the cost to us is the same irrespective of the number of people.
